Life of Mind Consortium

The Life of the Mind Consortium grew out of Willow Valley’s commitment to lifelong learning, intergenerational activities, and the importance of active, involved citizenry at all stages of life.

The consortium is a partnership among Willow Valley Retirement Communities, Franklin & Marshall College, Millersville University, and Pennsylvania College of Art & Design which encourages an exchange of intellectual, social, artistic, and cultural ideas and activities.

Although the Consortium has no physical location, its virtual home is created by Willow Valley Residents.

Here you will find links to the partner institutions listing their campus resources, events, and services as well as links to free online courses offered by major universities. There are also links to museums, libraries, and an Online Art Journey with virtual tours of major world museums and galleries.

Consortium members are committed to serving the larger community. One example is the Lancaster County Youth Library Project funded, in part, by a grant from the H. W. Wilson Foundation. An ongoing project is a database of Resident experiences, knowledge, and talents the partners may access.
