Nathan Eshleman, Manager of Grounds
Grounds Manager Nathan Eshleman likes to quote Ralph Waldo Emerson: "The happiest man is he who learns the lesson of worship - from nature." But it's the retirees at Willow Valley who are naturally happy, thanks to Nathan.
In addition to 27 years in landscaping, Nathan has a Bachelor's degree with a concentration in Leadership Development and Communications. Walk the retirement community grounds and you'll see clearly how he and his team communicate with nature. In the Spring Run wetland area, for example, they've provided Residents with a respite from the day-to-day grind. Wildlife - including red-winged blackbirds, ducks, herons, muskrats, hawks, owls, and foxes - flourish in a spot of ever-changing beauty.
Nathan shares his passion by leading our active Residents on walks through the grounds. He says his goal is to enrich the life of each Resident and, in turn, his life is enriched.
